The tour can be booked on the internet on www.shoestring.eu

While booking a tour you confirm that you accept and understand, on behalf of yourself and all members of your party, our terms and conditions as well as the details that is part of this tour.
You are responsible for entering the correct information on the booking form.
Your booking will be confirmed with the invoice that we’ll be sent to you. The invoice is also the confirmation of the tour.

2. Paying for the Tour:
After booking the tour on the internet, we will send you confirmation of your booking via email. A deposit of 20% of the full amount due must be paid within 7 days.

The full amount must be paid no less than 42 days before departure. The customer will receive the travel documents by email 2 weeks before departure.

If you are booking a tour within 42 days of your departure, the full amount must be paid immediately after booking the tour.

If the customer did not pay the deposit within 7 days of receiving the booking confirmation, and the full cost of the trip is not paid until 42 days before departure, Shoestring.eu is allowed to cancel the contract after sending the customer a reminder stating a deadline by which the payment must be made. After the specified time limit runs out the customer must pay the relevant cancellation fees.

3. Prices and contractal contents
The latest prices and descriptions of our products are on our website www.shoestring.eu. All other publications are not valid.

4. Cancellation of the Tour
Changes or additions to your tour
If you want to change to a different tour (by date or destination) after the invoice has been issued, you will need to cancel and book again. The usual cancellation fees apply. A name change (i.e. sending someone else on the tour in your place) is regarded as cancellation of the tour.

Cancellation of your tour

Any changes to your booking (e.g. cancellations) must be communicated to Shoestring by e-mail by the person who made the original booking and must be sent from the same e-mail address as that used to make the booking. Cancellation will take effect from the day we are notified by e-mail. A cancellation invoice will be sent to you within 14 days of us receiving your confirmation by e-mail. If you do not receive this cancellation invoice within 14 days, please contact us immediately in order to prevent an increase in charges.

Cancellation fees:
- Up to 42 days before departure: 20%(the deposit will not be reimbursed)
- 41 – 28 days before departure: 60% (of the total tour cost)
-  27 – 7 days before departure: 90% (of the total tour cost)
-  Less than 7 days before departure: 100% (of the total tour cost)

Cancellation of your tour before departure
All our tours have guaranteed departure as long as two or more people book, but this can also mean that the minimum group size is just two people. A group of two people is no valid reason for the traveller to cancel the tour without cost. We guarantee to be able to provide you with all the services we have confirmed to you at the time of booking. We plan arrangements for your tour meticulously and a long time in advance. On occasions changes do have to be made and we reserve the right to make these. Most of these changes are minor. However, if we consider them to be a SIGNIFICANT CHANGE we will endeavour to advise you as soon as is reasonably possible. A significant change includes a change of itinerary of more than two days, a change of transport during an important stretch of the tour or a change of flight time of more than 24 hours.
Whilst every effort is made to operate a tour as advertised, on occasion it may be necessary to make changes to the accommodation, routing or order of an itinerary.

5. Insurance
It is important that you have insurance cover and that this is adequate for your needs. Insurance covering medical costs, including the cost of medical repatriation is mandatory. You will need to arrange a policy yourself. Please check carefully to ensure that it provides an equal or higher level of cover. For those who participate in sports and activities whilst on tour that have been organised and arranged independently of Shoestring, it should be understood that participation is at the individual’s own risk and it is your responsibility to obtain the relevant insurance.
We also strongly recommend that you purchase cancellation insurance.

6.General requirements / Passports Visas / Health
You have to arrange your own visa(s): the cost is not included in the travel fees.
You will find detailed information on the Shoestring website. You are responsible for ensuring that your passport is valid and that you take it with you, also that you take the necessary travel information with you, have the vaccinations and insurance that you need and that you respect the laws, exchange control and customs regulations of the country you are visiting. Complications arising from your failure to respect these rules have to be resolved by yourself and any fees incurred as a result must to be paid by the customer.
By booking, you confirm that you and your party are in good health with no medical history that would make it dangerous to participate in the tour.
We will only accept responsibility for personal injury where it is caused by our negligence or the negligence of our suppliers and we do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to property.

7. Our commitment for your tour arrangements
Shoestring.eu undertakes the following tasks and responsibilities: a thorough travel preparation, a careful selection and monitoring of those rendering a service, the correctness of the service descriptions on the website www.shoestring.eu and the duly provision of the contractually agreed services.
The traveller undertakes following activities at his/her own risk and is fully liable for any injury or damage caused: walking and hill climbing, boating tours, voluntary trips, sporting activities and participating in any potentially high-risk adventure activities. Shoestring.eu is only liable in case of intentional and/or gross negligence.
The liability for contractual damages which are not bodily harm is limited to the sum of two times the travel price, as long as Shoestring GmbH did not cause the bodily harm of a travel guest intentionally or by gross negligence.

8. Complaints
If you have cause for complaint whilst on tour, you must bring it to the attention of tour operator or local agent immediately. We will do our best to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

If a problem remains unresolved during your tour, you should write a complaint by e-mail to feedback@shoestring.eu within one month of your return date (the last day of the journey that is mentioned in the contract is the binding date) of the completion of the tour. Please remember to quote your booking reference and daytime telephone number.
